A short course on Electrical and Electronic Circuits Designing for Common and Advanced Usages is proposed for the school and college students from the ECE department, CUI Lahore campus. The objective of this course is to develop some basic technical and hands-on skills in the attendees to design practically useful electrical and electronic circuits. The course will impart basic technical understanding necessary to design the working electronic circuits that can be utilized in everyday life. The scope of the course covers the basic working principles of electronic components such as diode, transistors, resistors, capacitors, inductors etc. to design, implement and test the circuits. Moreover, usage of industry-standard Multisim circuit simulator software will also be used to simulate the designs. The proposed course will also address the real-time issues that arise during simulation of designs and how to meet them.
The circuits that shall be discussed in this course include power supplies, natural gas detector alarm, carbon dioxide detector alarm, carbon monoxide detector alarm, LPG detector alarm, automatic lighting control, automatic solar-operated fan with speed control, remote control for electrical appliances, automatic water tank controllers and other similar circuits.
The course will cover the simulation of the circuit, its testing on breadboard and then finishing it using veroboard by soldering the components.
Circuit assembling and soldering will be an additional skill that will be imparted in the attendees. The course can further be extended to implement digital circuits such as digital thermostat, digital photometer, digital frequency counter etc.
This hands-on short course will equip participants with the skills to design, build, and test electronic circuits from the basics.
