Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering BS(Chemical Engineering)

Overview:

The Department of Chemical Engineering at COMSATS University offers a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Chemical Engineering program that is designed to provide students with a comprehensive education in the field of chemical engineering. The program combines theoretical knowledge with practical experience, preparing students for successful careers in the industry.

Curriculum:

The BS Chemical Engineering program is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in mathematics, physics, and chemistry, as well as specialized knowledge in chemical engineering. The curriculum covers a wide range of topics including thermodynamics, transport phenomena, process control, chemical reaction engineering, and process design. The program covers a wide range of subjects related to chemical engineering such as: thermodynamics, heat and mass transfer, chemical kinetics and reactor design, fluid mechanics, process control and instrumentation, process design, and safety and environmental engineering. In addition, students will also take courses in other engineering disciplines, as well as humanities and social science.

The detailed curriculum is available on the link below:

Internship and Research Opportunities:

The BS Chemical Engineering program includes a mandatory internship component, providing students with hands-on experience in industry. This allows students to apply the knowledge they have gained in the classroom to real-world situations and to make important connections in the field. Additionally, students have the opportunity to participate in research projects under the guidance of faculty members, helping them to develop a research mindset, to improve their problem-solving skills and to apply the knowledge and skills learned in the classroom to real-world projects.

Accreditation:

The BS Chemical Engineering program is accredited by the Washington Accord, a prestigious international accreditation body that recognizes the quality of engineering programs around the world. This accreditation ensures that the program meets the highest international standards in chemical engineering education and it gives students the opportunity to pursue their studies or work in other countries that are part of the Accord.

Career Opportunities:

Graduates of the BS Chemical Engineering program are well-prepared for a wide range of careers in the chemical industry. Our alumni have gone on to work for leading companies in the field, including petroleum companies, chemical manufacturers, research and development firms, consulting firms and government agencies. They can work as process engineers, process design engineers, project engineers, production engineers, research and development engineers, quality control engineers, health, safety and environmental engineers and many other roles.
