Master of Science in Chemical Engineering MS(Chemical Engineering)

Introduction

The Department of Chemical Engineering has successfully launched graduate program (Master of Science, MS ) in Fall 2011 to prepare students to tackle the issues related to process improvement and/or design in local and/or global chemical or process industry. The graduate program aims to create and disseminate quality knowledge in a research oriented atmosphere for personal and professional growth. The strong faculty and excellent facilities of the department have the potential to provide students with the technical and professional knowledge necessary to develop their abilities to seek creative solutions to complex problems in their field of interest. The Master's programme builds on the foundation developed in the Bachelor's programme, which provides a general background in the basic sciences in combination with a number of well-chosen introductory technical courses and basic principles of chemical technology. To acquire design experience, students utilize different knowledge domains and complete shared projects.

The curriculum consists of a broad, generic core, which is then strengthened and honed with several specialization courses in areas such as membrane technology, environmental technologies, composite materials, process systems engineering.

The program is designed to help prepare students for industry, teaching and research careers, and to meet the need for rigorous and advanced training in the applied aspects of modern technology. The program is spitted into course work and the research work that carries 24 and 6 credit hours respectively.
