BS Electrical Engineering - (BSEE)
Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI), Lahore Campus, is one of the most significant places of knowledge in the field of Electrical and Computer Engineering in Pakistan. The graduates of BSEE are not only serving in Pakistan but also representing Pakistan and CUI Lahore worldwide.
Electrical Engineering program has been designed to build a solid foundation in four different fields of Electrical Engineering i.e. Telecommunication, Electronics, Power and Robotics and Control engineering. The postgraduate courses are aimed to bring students with the latest progresses in research according to their area of specialization. The Department has a well-qualified faculty and has a firm belief in faculty development and therefore facilitates and reassures the young members to go abroad for advanced studies. The research being carried out at the Department has appreciation nationwide and has links with the national industry. Various research groups are working hard to make CUI Lahore a strong and model engineering research university in Pakistan.
The Electrical Engineering (EE) program at CUI Lahore offers an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering with various specializations followed by powerful post-graduate programs along with outclass PhD in Electrical Engineering. The goal of CUI Lahore is to develop practically skilled graduates who can contribute significantly right after graduation.
The EE program is designed to provide its graduates with a solid educational foundation on which they can build successful and sustainable careers in electrical engineering and related fields. The curriculum of Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering is developed with the objective to facilitate the teaching of common core courses and selection of courses of a major area depending upon the interest of the student.
The Electrical Engineering program has been divided into the following streams:
The students after the completion of two years of studies can choose among these streams based on CGPA and their interest/preference.
Degree Accreditation:
BS in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) Program has been accredited by the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) Islamabad on Outcome Based Education (OBE) framework under level-II as per Washington Accord.
Program Scope and Structure:
The Electrical Engineering program covers vast areas such as power system analysis, power system protection, Digital Image Processing, control systems, power distribution and utilization, AC/DC machines, analog and digital communication, microprocessor interfacing.
The applied scheme of studies has been carefully designed to enhance both academic and professional aspects of Electrical Engineering program. The core courses have been selected to enhance the design and development skills of students in the field of Electrical engineering.
The students also take courses in humanities, management and social sciences to develop well rounded personalities. The students in their final year are also required to complete a design or research project in which they apply the knowledge and skills gained during this engineering program. The students must then submit a written report, demonstrate their design and development effort and defend their project before a jury for award of grades.
A summary of this program is given below:
Minimum Duration: 4 Years
Minimum No. of Semesters: 08
