DIYA Pakistan Scholarships

As per MoU in between COMSATS and DIYA Pakistan, DIYA Pakistan will award scholarships to students currently enrolled at COMSATS University Islamabad and its Campuses.

The details regarding the scholarship program, along with the eligibility criteria is provided as follows:

Objectives:

• Providing financial aid in the form of scholarships to needy students of the undergraduate/graduate programs across all campuses of CUI.
• Scholarships will be either fully or partially funded depending upon the availability of funds/donors ‘approval and assessment of the student's needs and an evaluation of their academic performance.
• Both Merit and need will be considered for award of scholarships.

Eligibility Criteria of the Scholarship:

• Students who are enrolled in four-year Undergraduate Degree (BS level) / Graduate       Degree (MS level after BS level Degree) programs and fulfill DIYA Pakistan’s  eligibility criteria will be eligible for scholarship. 
• Applicants must demonstrate both merit and financial need.
• Students must achieve a minimum of 60% marks at all academic levels.
• Ph.D. and M.Phil. students are ineligible for the Diya Scholarship, except for those pursuing M.Phil. directly after graduation.
• Applicants currently receiving scholarships exceeding Rs. 25,000 per year from other organizations are not eligible for the Diya Scholarship.
 

Process of Short listing and Award of Scholarship:

• Interested candidates will apply for the scholarship through pre-defined application system of CUI on the prescribed Application Form and submit its hard copy attached with complete set of the requisite documentation to the CUI financial aid office.
• Following the Pre-ISAC meetings held at respective campuses to shortlist students, the ISAC Committee, based at the Principal Seat, will interview the selected applicants from the Pre- ISAC stage.
• The Scholarship Management Unit, Registrar Secretariat CUI will send the list of the recommended students after selection/recommendation from the Institutional Scholarship Award Committee (ISAC) at CUI.
• DIYA Pakistan, on receipt of recommendations will process all applications as per policy and update CUI on approved cases.

Continuation/Renewal of Scholarship:

The continuation of a scholarship in next fiscal years shall be subject to the following conditions:

• The Scholarship Awardee has remained in good standing, i.e. he/she has been registered/ enrolled/ allowed to advance to the next semester as per the CUI promotion policy.
• The awardee also meets DIYA Pakistan criteria for scholarship renewal.
• The scholarship recipient must reapply or renew their scholarship for the upcoming fiscal year using prescribed Performa
• Minimum CGPA to retain the scholarship will be 2.8. If the student fails to maintain the required CGPA in the previous semester, the said scholarship will be suspended for the current semester and will be resumed on maintaining the required CGPA of 2.8 or above.
• Diya Scholarships will only be valid for the normal duration of the degree. Additional semesters will not be covered under this scholarship.
