Teaching Aid Services
Teaching Aid Support (TAS) provide the technical support in COMSATS Lahore Campus from last six to seven years under the Information Technology – Services. TAS mission by enhancing the quality and effectiveness of instructional delivery methods. With state-of-the-art media systems, we provide a means to achieve greater impact in the classroom, meeting rooms and all over the Campus from idea inception to final solution.

Video Conferencing
Video conferencing uses both audio and video to allow people at different sites to get together over the Internet. This can be a conversation between just two people (point-to-point) or several people at multiple locations (multi-point). Besides just the audio and visual transmission of video conferencing, it can also be used to share documents and display information on your personal computer. These features allow for improved collaboration, more personal engagement, content sharing and improved productivity all in a video solution.
Key Features and Benefits
Video Conferencing and Tele Presence Systems – COMSATS Lahore Campus has a number of Telepresence and other conferencing systems installed Admin Block & IRCBM Center. These rooms can be scheduled for use by contacting your departments or through the IT-S Service Desk. Software Video Conferencing – Polycon Video for Telepresence, is available for PC’s and mobile devices to anyone with anCOMSATS Lahore. This video conferencing software can connect to other computers or to room-based video systems.
Web Conferencing
Web Conferencing with WebEx - WebEx is a secure, cloud-based service that allows Web conferencing in a collaborative session sharing audio, video, and the desktop. It allows participants to attend meetings by phone, computer, or via iPhone, iPad, and other mobile devices.
Network and Classroom Services (NCS) Management
Network and Classroom Services (NCS) is a functional unit within Computing and Information Technology that develops, implements and supports university-wide network communications and classroom technology services for the COMSATS Lahore Campus.
Classroom Equipment Help Desk Management
Each of the general assignment classrooms is equipped with a telephone in case you need assistance with the audiovisual equipment in that room. Just pick up the phone and dial 853-843 to speak to a technician. If the problem cannot be solved over the phone, a technician will be dispatched to your classroom. Help is available Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. during the regular academic year.
Our staff is happy to meet with you and provide one-on-one training on the equipment in the classroom you will be using. Please call 853-849 to set up a time when we can be sure the classroom is available for training.
Smart Classroom Faculty Orientation and Training Management
We recommend that first-time users call and request a demonstration of Smart rooms. We are responsible for over 86 classrooms, meeting rooms classified as Smart rooms. These rooms are equipped with several kinds of multimedia presentation tools. We will be happy to meet with faculty in any of these rooms for a personal demonstration using the classroom technology. Please call 853-843 to arrange an appointment.
Multimedia Equipment for Checkout Management
We offer a wide variety of audiovisual equipment for use in and out of the classroom. This equipment can be picked up and returned to TAS office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Wireless Microphones in Classrooms Management
We install and maintain the receivers for wireless microphones in general assignment classrooms that seat over 100 people. Each of these is assigned a specific radio frequency and you must have the correct frequency for each room. Please contact us if you have questions regarding the use of wireless microphones in classrooms.
Indoor and Out Door Events Management
We provide the following technical services during indoor\outdoor events On-site audio\Video recording (grievance hearings, etc.) Public address installation/operation etc.
Multimedia Technologies Management
TAS provides and maintains presentation technology in support of instruction and special events. We drafted and implemented the Classroom Technology Plan, a commitment to classroom technology renewal and replacement. We have equipped every class room 100% of LCD data/video projectors, Sound systems, Amplifier, wireless mikes, computer interface and network connections. Lecture halls were also equipped with wireless microphones, PC computers and document cameras. Our commitment to instructional technology, has led us to design and implement "smarter" classrooms, such as the Flex Rooms and the Hyperstruction Studio. Multimedia Services also delivers and operates presentation equipment in non-equipped spaces. With our videoconferencing technology, you can hold seminars, classes, or meetings with any UC campus or other sites worldwide. Our staff is available for consultation on classroom design issues or the planning of special events.
