Who We Are?
Welcome to the Chemical Engineering Department at COMSATS University Islamabad
(Lahore Campus)!
Chemical engineering is a branch of engineering that deals with the design, development,
and operation of chemical processes and systems. It combines the principles of chemistry,
physics, mathematics, and engineering to create new materials, products, and technologies
that improve our daily lives.
At COMSATS University, we put special emphasis on imparting computational skills and
application of Artificial Intelligence in managing chemical processes. Our chemical
engineering curriculum is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed
to design, operate, and troubleshoot chemical processes and systems using cutting-edge
computational tools and techniques.
Chemical engineers work in a wide range of industries, including pharmaceuticals,
biotechnology, energy, food and beverage, and environmental protection. They are
involved in the design, construction, and operation of chemical plants and equipment, and
the development of new chemical products and processes.
Chemical engineers also use their knowledge of chemistry, physics, and mathematics to
solve problems related to the production and use of chemicals, fuels, and other materials.
They work on projects that range from the design of new drugs and medical devices to the
development of cleaner, more efficient energy sources.
Our program is designed to provide students with a solid understanding of the fundamental
principles of chemical engineering, as well as the skills and knowledge needed to design,
operate, and troubleshoot chemical processes and systems using computational tools and
techniques.
In addition to the classroom instruction, students have opportunities to gain hands-on
experience through laboratory work, design projects, and internships. Our graduates are
well-prepared to enter a wide range of industries, or to pursue advanced studies in chemical
engineering or related fields with special emphasis on computational and AI skills.
