There are two forms of Plagiarism: a) An author knowingly/wilfully copying the research work of others and declare the same as its own, or b) author reproducing his own previous published work either in part or full without giving references, same is also recognized as duplicate publication or self-plagiarism.
COMSATS Journal of Islamic Finance will judge any case of plagiarism on its own merits. If plagiarism is detected, either by the editors or editorial staff at any stage before publication of a manuscript before or after acceptance, during editing or at page proof stage, we will alert the author asking her or him to either rewrite the text or quote the text exactly and to cite the original source. If the plagiarism is extensive that is if at least 25% of the original submission is plagiarized the article may be rejected and the author’s institution/employer notified.
By submitting your manuscript to the journal it is understood that this it is an original manuscript and is unpublished work and is not under consideration elsewhere. Plagiarism, including duplicate publication of the author’s own work, in whole or in part without proper citation is not tolerated by the journal. Manuscripts submitted to the journal may be checked for originality using anti-plagiarism software.
If plagiarism is detected after publication the COMSATS Journal of Islamic Finance will conduct an investigation. If plagiarism is found, the Journal editorial office will contact the author’s institute and funding agencies. The paper containing the plagiarism will be marked on each page of PDF. Depending on the extent of the plagiarism, the paper may also be formally retracted.
