Capacity Building Training Workshop on Islamic Finance for Shariah Scholars of all Schools of Thoughts at CUI Sahiwa

In continuation of “Capacity Building Program” by Center of Islamic Finance in collaboration with State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), yet another workshop took place in CUI Sahiwal campus on Wednesday 24th April 2019. Venue was Room C4 of Block C in CUI Sahiwal.

CIF Annual Report 2017-18

The Center of Islamic Finance (CIF) is serving the noble cause of promoting research, training & development, Shariah advisory and extensive outreach in the area of Islamic Finance. CIF has taken many initiatives including Global Forum on Islamic Finance (GFIF), COMSATS Journal of Islamic Finance (CJIF), Islamic Finance Excellence Award (IFEA), Halal Advisory Services (HAS) and Shariah Advisory Services (SAS) since last four years. Every year various projects are presented from the platform of CIF that are currently published in CIF Annual Report 2017-18.

Sixth CIF-SBP Capacity Building Workshop on Islamic Finance at CUI Vehari

The opening ceremony started with the recitation of Al-Quran. Mr. Hafiz Abdul Samad, from Jamia Khalid Bin Waleed recited few verses from Al-Quran. Prof. Dr.Khair-UZ- Zaman, Director CUI Vehari Campus was the chief guest of the ceremony. He welcomed all the participants and paid special thanks to State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) in cooperating and facilitating the event.

A 5 Days workshop held at CUI Abbottabad in collaboration with SBP and NIBAF for banking officers and Shariah scholar.

State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and National Institute of Banking and Finance (NIBAF) in collaboration with Center of Islamic Finance, Department of Management Sciences, COMSATS, Abbottabad organized a five-days training course on Fundamentals of Islamic Banking Operations (FIBO) during October 16-20, 2017 for bankers, Islamic scholars, and academicians.

Fifth SBP-CIF Capacity Building Workshop on Islamic Finance at CUI Sahiwal

CIF’s fifth workshop regarding “Capacity Building Program” of Islamic Finance in collaboration with State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) took place in CUI Sahiwal on Tuesday 12th – Wednesday 13th December, 2017. Venue was Room C4 of Block C in CUI Sahiwal.

Fourth SBP-CIF Capacity Building Workshop on Islamic Finance at CUI Islamabad.

The opening ceremony started on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 with the recitation of Al-Quran. Mr Yasir Kundi,Lecturer Department of Management Sciences, recited verses from Al-Quran on the essence of faith in ALLAH TAALHA. The ceremony was presided by honourable chief guest Prof. Dr. Khalid Riaz, Dean Faculty of Business Administration, COMSATS University Islamabad, Dr. Abdus Sattar Abbasi, Head of Center of Islamic Finance (CIF) and Mufti Irshad Ahmad Aijaz, Chairman Supervisory Board, BankIslami Pakistan Limited.

Third SBP-CIF Capacity Building Workshop on Islamic Finance at CUI Wah.

The opening ceremony started with the recitation of Al-Quran. Mir Abdur Rafeh, student of BBA recited few verses from Al-Quran. Dr. Majid Jamal Khan, Assistant Professor/Member CIF hosted the program and gave the audience an overview of SBP-CIF training workshop. Dr. Abdus Sattar Abbasi,Head of CIF and Managing Editor CJIF welcomed all the participants and briefed about the activities held at Center of Islamic Finance (CIF).

Opening started with the recitation from the verses of Holy Quran. Afterward Dr. Abdus Sattar Abbasi (Head, CIF) welcomed all participants and briefed about Center of Islamic Finance (CIF) at COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI) Lahore. Strategic Workshop of CIF-Network 2016

For over a decade various Islamic Financial Institutions (IFIs) have been established in Pakistan and abroad to serve Islamic Finance. Supplementing this cause, COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI), Lahore has established Center of Islamic Finance (CIF) in 2014 and now has established sub-offices in each campus of COMSATS in six following cities of Pakistan for better outreach of Center of Islamic Finance.

CIF is primarily meant to undertake research and development for contributing Shariah compliant financial solutions. It further offers demand driven and customizable trainings for professionals. In addition CIF also supplements the Department of Management Sciences in degree programmes with specialization in Islamic finance.
