The IRCBM Library was established on 1st October 2025 with the mission to excel in supporting the academic pursuits of its users by fulfilling their core instructional and research needs. Housing a comprehensive collection of cutting-edge books, peer-reviewed research journals, and specialized reference materials, the IRCBM Library is tailored to support the diverse academic and research activities related to the field of IRCBM (Interdisciplinary Research Centre in Biomedical Materials). It serves as an intellectual hub, continually evolving to meet the growing demands of its scholarly community.
The OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) allows users to easily search and locate items within the IRCBM Library’s collections, whether on campus or remotely. Our professional and dedicated staff are committed to meeting the specific needs of researchers, faculty, and students. Expert research assistance is also available through the Ask a Librarian service, or by directly contacting IRCBM Library staff for any support or guidance.
The library's collection encompasses books covering all IRCBM disciplines and related fields. It also houses a classical reference collection. The library subscribes to a range of national and international journals in print, with current issues prominently displayed on special shelves within their respective sections for easy access.

Reference Services
“Reference Services” refer to the professional guidance and support provided by the library staff to help users access materials from the library’s collections or other sources. Whether in-person or online, these services assist individuals in fulfilling their information needs efficiently and effectively. Our knowledgeable staff is dedicated to offering reliable reference support, enabling users to make inquiries and receive assistance regarding library resources and services.

Orientation Sessions
The IRCBM Library conducts information literacy sessions commonly known as user education for students, faculty and staff, and orientation sessions for all new classes of IRCBM students can attend these sessions or walk-in-training for use of the library resources and services.
Circulation
All registered users are entitled to borrow two books for a period of 30 days. For further details inquire at the circulation desk for your eligibility. The library material can be borrowed and online renewal from 8.30 am to 4:30 pm, during working days Monday to Friday.
Reservation
Any book in the catalogue can be reserved by any user. The user will be notified when the book is available / returned.
Inter Library Loan (ILL)
IRCBM library has made special arrangements to obtain books and other information material through inter library loan from other libraries and information centers, if a book or item is not available in the library. The library also has the full access on the library material of other COMSATS campuses libraries on ILL basis.
Wifi Facility
Wireless connectivity to internet is available in the library. Patrons can use their laptops/notebooks with build-in wireless adapter to avail through eduroam.
Scanning Facility
Library provides the scanning facility to its users.
VPN Facility
Library provides virtual private network (VPN) to access a number of electronic resources which include e-journals and e-books.
