Humanities Department, an extraordinary success

It's a moment of immense pleasure that Under the guidance of Dr Bilal Zafar Amin and Madam Asma Razi from the Humanities Department, an extraordinary success has been achieved by the BBA (FA21) students at COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, in the esteemed Francophonie contest 2023. Organized collaboratively by the embassies of Belgium, France, and Switzerland, along with the High Commission of Canada in Pakistan, the contest, titled "Concours de la Francophonie 2023" - "Dessine-moi la planète" (Draw me the planet), aimed to assess French language proficiency while addressing the critical issue of climate change.

Under the theme "My planet in comics" - "Climate change under our eyes," participants were challenged to create a comic strip showcasing linguistic expertise in French while highlighting the adverse impacts of climate change. The students from the Management Sciences Department at CUI, Lahore, demonstrated their outstanding talent and linguistic capabilities through their entries. Ms. Mah Noor Chaudhary (FA21-BBA-039), Ms. Nawaal Mir (FA21-BBA-063), and Mr. Ali Shahzad (FA21-BBA-035) secured the 1st position among 15 universities in Category 3, skillfully portraying the burning issue of climate change in their comic strip entry.

The award ceremony, held on 13th December 2023, was a momentous occasion where the winners received certificates, gift hampers, and the opportunity to personally meet the French ambassador, Mr. Nicolas Galey. This recognition stands as a testament to their dedication, creativity, and linguistic prowess on an international platform. Worthy Director COMSATS Lahore Dr Sayyed Asad Hussain appreciated the Head Department of Humanities Dr Musferah Mehfooz and the whole team on this wonderful effort and celebrated the success of the Lahore campus students.
