From conventional methods to advanced fabrication

The Interdisciplinary Research Centre in Biomedical Materials (IRCBM), COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, successfully organized a two-day Materials Fabrication Workshop: Conventional to Advance on 27–28 July 2026. This workshop was part of the summer training courses organized by the IRCBM faculty.

The workshop was designed to provide participants with both theoretical knowledge and practical hands-on training in conventional and advanced materials fabrication techniques used in biomaterials, tissue engineering, and advanced manufacturing.

The event attracted participants from diverse academic and professional backgrounds. The workshop commenced with registration, recitation of the Holy Quran, and welcome remarks by Prof. Dr. Anila Asif, Head of IRCBM.

During the two-day programme, participants attended expert lectures and practical laboratory sessions conducted by Dr. Hamad Khalid and Dr. Hafsah Akhtar. The workshop also provided opportunities for hands-on laboratory training, scientific discussion, and presentations. At the end of the two-day workshop, certificates were presented to participants, resource persons, and the organizing team by the Head of IRCBM, Prof. Dr. Anila Asif.
