Collaboration, wellbeing and campus development

Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas, Director, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, continued his engagements focused on academic collaboration, institutional development, and improving student and employee facilities.

The day brought visitors, a special event and important meetings — a Vice Chancellor on joint research, a visiting professor of economics, the Campus Works Committee on a new hostel, and a delegation from Bank AL Habib — alongside a walk that took the campus onto the subject of mental health.

01 Collaboration

The Vice Chancellor, University of Education

Prof. Dr. Aqif Anwar Chaudhry, Vice Chancellor, University of Education, visited the Campus Director and discussed significant areas for mutual collaboration, especially fostering joint research initiatives.

02 Wellbeing

Suicide Prevention Awareness Walk

The Director joined the walk organised by the Department of Psychology. Prof. Dr. Rafia Rafique, President, Pakistan Psychological Association, took part as guest of honour.

Speaking at the event, the Director emphasised the need for such initiatives and highlighted the university’s commitment to providing a safe, compassionate and mentally healthy academic environment for all.

03 Economics

Leading Excellence in Economic Research & Global Impact

Dr. Muhammad Shahbaz, Professor of Economics (Energy), Beijing Institute of Technology, China, presented a comprehensive plan to transform the Department of Economics into an internationally recognised centre of research excellence, policy influence and global collaboration.

He formally offered his expertise and services to partner with the department on joint academic projects, grant proposals and development-focused research.

04 Campus works

A new hostel for 500 female students

The Campus Director chaired a meeting of the Campus Works Committee to address the agenda item of constructing a new hostel facility for 500 female students.

05 Visitor

A delegation from Bank AL Habib

The delegation paid a courtesy visit to the Campus Director at the Director Secretariat to extend their warm congratulations on his appointment as Campus Director.

During the meeting they formally offered Bank AL Habib’s services to explore joint ventures, financial solutions and collaborative projects aimed at driving the development and operational progress of the campus.
