Welcome to the Department of Art & Design at COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus. As the Head of
Department, I'm honored to introduce you to our academic programs that embody the intersection of art, design, and
innovation. Our undergraduate curricula in Bachelor of Design and Bachelor of Fine Arts are meticulously crafted to
foster a deep understanding of visual and material culture, ingenuous heritage of our context, and the complexities and
demands of incorporating 21st century teaching and learning skills in contemporary education.
Grounded in the principles of interdisciplinary, cross-disciplinary, and Trans disciplinary practices, our programs
aim to cultivate critical thinkers, creative problem-solvers, and innovative designers who can navigate the dynamic
global landscape. We emphasize the importance of contextualizing art and design education within the rich cultural
heritage of Lahore, while also engaging with the broader global community. For us design for the community is of
utmost importance.

Our faculty, comprising accomplished visual artists, designers, and filmmakers, are committed to mentoring students
in the art of designing solutions that are both aesthetically compelling and functionally effective.
Our state-of-the-art facilities, including computer labs, photography labs, and wood workshops, provide an optimal
environment for students to explore, experiment, and refine their skills. We also offer a range of extracurricular
activities that foster creative expression, critical thinking, and collaborative learning.
Throughout their academic journey, students will be encouraged to develop a nuanced understanding of the complex
relationships between art, design, and society. Our aim is to empower graduates who can think critically, design
