Industrial Scale Production of Burn Care and Instant Blood Stopping Products developed in IRCBM

HEC TDF Project Commercialization

Dr Muhammad Yar who is an Associate Professor at Interdisciplinary Research Center in Biomedical Materials, COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI) Lahore Campus successfully developed KytoStat™ an Instant blood stopping agent and KytoGraft™ a wound dressing. Imported products for these clinical applications are expensive and not affordable. These products were the result of TDF Project awarded to Dr Yar by Higher Education Commission of Pakistan in 2018 and Cotton Craft Pvt Ltd was his industrial partner in this project. A technology transfer agreement was signed between CUI and Cotton Craft in 2018. Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) approved Cotton Craft to manufacture these wound care and blood stopping products in Pakistan in June 2021. Both products have been manufactured at Industrial scale. The Picture below shows these products.
