Portable Sensing Platforms for Environmental Monitoring

Our work revolves around designing and fabricating smart, miniaturized sensors that can quickly detect a wide range of environmental hazards. These devices are built using advanced nanomaterials such as graphene, metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), and polyoxometalates (POMs). By leveraging technologies like electrochemical sensing, fluorescent probes, and colorimetric detection, we create sensors that can pick up even trace amounts of pollutants like lead, cadmium, mercury, hydrogen peroxide, and various other emerging toxins in air, water, and soil. Our goal is to deliver highly accurate, low-cost, and field-deployable solutions that can be used in a wide range of settings — from farms and riversides to industrial zones and remote villages, helping to detect contamination early and prevent environmental health crises.
