Message from the HOD

Mathematics forms the foundation of data science, providing tools to analyse data, identify patterns, and make informed decisions. Statistics, probability, linear algebra, and calculus support predictive modelling and machine learning. Integrating mathematics with data science equips students to solve practical problems across science, industry, and society.
The department is committed to developing strong mathematical foundations alongside analytical and computational skills. We encourage students to ask thoughtful questions, explore ideas, build models, and communicate findings responsibly, preparing them for research and professional careers.
I encourage students to pursue learning with curiosity and perseverance. I sincerely thank parents for supporting their children’s education and faculty members for their dedication to teaching, research, and mentorship.
