Prof Jason Pomeroy Talk

Prof Jason Pomeroy is an architect, academic, and author. He is the founder of the sustainable design firm Pomeroy Studio and the sustainable education institution Pomeroy Academy. Pomeroy studied at the Canterbury School of Architecture, earned a master's degree from the University of Cambridge, and completed a PhD at the University of Westminster with a thesis titled "Skycourts and skygardens: towards a vertical urban theory."
He teaches at James Cook University in Singapore, the Università Iuav di Venezia in Italy, and the University of Nottingham and the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom.
One of his notable projects is an energy-efficient house designed for Sime Darby Property in Malaysia. This house, known as the Idea House, incorporates green technologies such as solar panels and rainwater collection systems, and draws inspiration from the traditional Malay kampong. Completed in 2010, the Idea House received a Green Mark Platinum rating from the Building and Construction Authority in 2011.The talk was well attended by fellows and associate architects.
