Ms. Sadia Farooq - Assistant Professor at the Department of Art and Design, CUI Lahore has been conferred with an ‘Excellence Award’ at the Prestigious 9th International Art Festival, 'Life is Art' at Haegeumgang Museum Geoje-South Korea. This selection was made amongst 344 participating artists of 56 different countries of the world through a transparent voting process by the esteemed Jury members from each nation. It is a mega Art event from October to December 2023 with a World premier and travelling exhibition to different cities of South Korea to gain maximum visibility. It is a matter of high esteem that one of our senior faculty members at Comsats University proudly represented Pakistan and our Institution amongst the 56 countries and won this Award of Excellence.
Ms. Sadia is a trained Miniature Painter from National of Arts, Lahore; awarded with a ‘Distinction’ & ‘Sir Percy Brown Award’ for excellence in Art History. After acquiring her M.A (Hons.)Visual Arts from NCA, she was honored with the Charles Wallace Trust Foundation Fellowship for a Residency program at The Prince’s Foundation School of Traditional Arts, UK. Throughout her academic and professional career she has participated in several International Shows and regularly exhibits her work all over Pakistan. In addition to private collections worldwide, her work has been acquired by the Luciano Benetton Foundation 'Imago Mundi Collection' - a White Turban Collaboration for 2017 Venice Biennale. The work also became part of an Art Publication by Fabrica Exhibitions, Italy.
