Workshop on Shariah Compliant Corporate Governance for Islamic Financial Institutions

For over a decade various Islamic Financial Institutions (IFIs) have been established in Pakistan and abroad to serve Islamic Finance.While their products, contracts and procedures were being complied with Shariah standards, it was realized that their corporate governance should also be encompassed under Shariah rulings.
For this purpose State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) is in process of defining Shariah Compliance framework of Corporate Governance for IFIs.Supplementing this cause the Center of Islamic Finance (CIF), COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT), Lahore collaborated with IFAAS for designing and offering a training workshop on Shariah Compliant Corporate Governance.
The CIF CIIT, Lahore successfully conducted this workshop on March 11, 2015 Pearl Continental Hotel, Lahore. Mr. Farrukh Raza, CEO IFAAS shared his valuable knowledge with over 75 notable participants including Shariah advisors, senior bankers, academicians and regulators. In the feedback the participants commended the training as it enabled them learn the intervention of Shariah in corporate governance and further facilitated them discussed and exchange their ideas at length.
