IEEE MINI POCO 2017

IEEE MINI Panel of Conference Organizers (POCO) 2017 was inaugurated by Mr. Syed Raza Ali Gillani, Minister of Higher Education, Government of Punjab. He greatly appreciated the efforts made by CUI and IEEE Lahore Section, IEE CUI Student Branch in holding this conference. He congratulated Prof. Dr. Qaiser Abbas (Director, COMSATS Lahore) for leading this conference and the team for its wonderful execution. IEEE Mini POCO was attended by over 120 participants from various universities such as, FAST-NUCES, Lhr & Faisalabad, UVAS, University of Lahore, Superior University and various campuses of COMSATS Institute of Information Technology. Dr. Sobia Baig (Associate Professor, E.E Dept and Branch Counselor IEEE CUI Lahore Student Branch) was the Conference Chair, supported by EE faculty member team, while conference student co-founders were Engr. Roohan A. Hamza (Chairperson IEEE CUI Lahore Student Branch) and Mr. Muhammad Irtaza (Vice Chairperson IEEE CUI Lahore and Student at CUI Lahore). The event was scheduled on 19 th September, 2017 at Faletti’s Hotel- Lahore, Pakistan. The theme of this congress was “How to organize a conference”. This activity will help conference organizers in Pakistan gain experience on various aspects of conference organization. In order to ensure quality, top ranked speakers, in the respected field, were called for the conference, to share their experiences on various topics.

The event was sponsored by Higher Education Commission, Pakistan, IEEE Region 10 and COMSATS Institute of Information Technology Lahore, Pakistan. Furthermore, it was collaborated with IEEE Karachi Section, IEEE Islamabad Section, IEEE Region 10, IEEE MCE and with various educational institutes of Pakistan (in capacity of speakers) to ensure immersive quality.
