About the Department

The Department of Economics at CUI, Lahore Campus, initially a part of the Management Sciences Department, began offering an undergraduate degree in Economics in 2009. Expanding its academic portfolio, the department launched a full-time MPhil program in Economics in 2013. In response to the growing demand for focused economic studies, it was established as an independent Department of Economics in 2018. Continuing its evolution, the department has most recently introduced a PhD program in Economics, starting from Spring 2023.
