A team from the Computer Science Department, comprising Tania Zaheer (FA20-BCS-003), Sania
Sadaqat (FA20-BCS-083), and Hamna Khawar (FA20-BCS-092), under the supervision of Dr. Usama Ijaz
Bajwa, participated in a national-level competition. Their project, "ARIA (Artificially Responsive
Intelligent Assistant)," was shortlisted after initial review into the Information Technology Symposium
(iTS’24), hosted by Cogent Labs, a full-service software development company.
The competition featured over 150 projects from more than 150 universities. The event was structured
in three stages. In the first stage, teams were required to submit their project proposals. During the mid-
evaluation stage, participants showcased their projects and received valuable feedback and suggestions.
In the final stage, teams presented their fully developed projects, incorporating the feedback provided
earlier. The final round was judged by CEOs and CTOs from various software companies on 1 st June,
2024.
ARIA distinguished itself among the 150+ projects, ultimately securing first place and winning a prize of
PKR 250,000. This achievement not only demonstrated the team's technical expertise but also reflected
the exceptional guidance provided by Dr. Usama Ijaz Bajwa.
