The Department
The Department of Physics was established in 2007 at COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus. BS (Physics) was the first program offered by the department. The Department of Physics is located in A-block of COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus and holds modern facilities both for teaching and research. The department boasts of having 26 PhDs, which makes us the most qualified faculty in Lahore city. Physics department has launched strong experimental / theoretical research projects in a number of areas of Physics, i.e., nanotechnology and advance materials, clean energy technology, optoelectronics, and theoretical Physics. The faculty publishes a large number of quality research papers in international impact factor journals every year. The Department has a score of scientific collaborations at national and international level. The department pays attention to arrange Physics colloquia and seminars in which, apart from the faculty, participation from the research students is encouraged. Scientists and experts from various universities and R&D organizations outside the university are also invited as speakers. The faculty members and research students get opportunities to attend the national and international conferences. We also offer counseling for the students to pursue higher degrees abroad on scholarship.
