NanoBio Combination Cancer Therapy
Dr. Madiha Saeed is developing highly sophisticated prodrug nanomedicines for combination cancer immunotherapy. She is exploring how nanomedicines activate sustained antitumor immune responses to broaden the clinical impact of cancer immunotherapy. The delivery of several cargos, including small molecular agonists, hydrophilic and hydrophobic chemotherapy drugs, immune checkpoint inhibitors, and biological macromolecules, has been achieved by encapsulating with polymeric nanoparticles. Her research demonstrates how nanobiomaterials have pledged to normalize the tumor immune microenvironment through various strategies, including nanovaccination and immune checkpoint blockade. Multiple strategies have been introduced to effectively deliver immunomodulatory agents, which normalize the tumor immune microenvironment for improved cancer therapy (scheme). These strategies will be implemented in the clinic to improve the performance of conventional cancer therapies.
