The Department of Computer Science was set to work on the day CUI Lahore Campus
started its operations in 2002. After more than a decade of contribution, we are proud to have
excellent infrastructural facilities and internationally qualified faculty members.
We have 80 faculty members (28 PhD, 50 MS and 2 BS) and a good number of research and support
staff. We offer two undergraduate degree programmes — Bachelor of Science in Computer
Science (BSCS) and Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering (BSSE) — with a broad range
of choices. These programmes are accredited by the Higher Education Commission’s
accreditation authority, the National Computing Education Accreditation Council (NCEAC), which
has awarded its highest ‘W’ category to our department since 2002. We also offer MS
and PhD degree programmes in Computer Science.
The department is student-centred and research-oriented. Alongside your computing education you
will have opportunities to take part in research activities and contribute fresh knowledge to
the field. Our faculty and students regularly publish research papers of national and
international repute in leading journals, and present at conferences all over the world.

Our graduates

Our mission
To prepare undergraduate and post-graduate students for productive and leading careers in
industry, academia and government, by providing an excellent environment for teaching,
learning and research in the theory and applications of computing and information
technology.
In particular, we aim to pursue creative research and new technologies in computer science,
information technology and across other disciplines, in order to serve the multidimensional
needs of industry, government, society and the scientific community by expanding and
contributing to the body of knowledge in the field.
We also strive to develop strong partnerships with industrial and government agencies,
professional societies and local communities.
