CUI- Lahore Statistics Team Secures First Place in Data Visualization Competition at DATA FEST

In a remarkable achievement, BS Statistics students from COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, took home first place at the "DATA FEST" event organized by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics on 21-22 October, 2024. Competing with teams from 12 universities across the country and witnessed by an audience of nearly 3,000 attendees, the students’ efforts stood out in the data visualization competition, specifically in the posters and 3D models category.
The event was graced by the presence of Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal, who served as the chief guest, and the students’ work received commendation from the evaluation committee for their creativity, technical skill, and commitment to excellence. This recognition highlights the high caliber of the university’s academic programs and its students' abilities in data science and visualization.
The students expressed their gratitude to the university administration for the invaluable support provided, enabling them to participate and thrive in this enriching experience. Dr. Muhammad Noor ul Amin, Head of the Department of Statistics, also extended his appreciation to the HR and Transport offices, as well as to the Director of the Lahore Campus, for facilitating the students' journey and contributing to their success.
