Being a research expert is, without doubt, one of the most promising career paths I can imagine. On the other hand, mastering it can be really challenging because you need to be very up-to-date in several disciplines. This is where the Departmental of Economics, CUI excels: amazingly prepared instructors and inspiring colleagues to acquire the data-driven mindset of the future.
I earned my BS (Hons) in Economics from the COMSATS University, Lahore Campus. Here, I dealt with innovative programs and diverse courses. I embarked on a distinct winning position of a gold medal which I believe was only possible due to the keen professional guidance of my teachers. Later that year, I was awarded a Turkish government scholarship to pursue my higher education (M.Phil.) at Turkey University. Subsequently, I was awarded Erasmus + Exchange program scholarship in Poland. Nowadays, I am working as a Research Analyst at International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), Pakistan. I have no hesitation in acknowledging the best learning environment of COMSATS, and I intend to state that I would not have been able to reach excellence in my academic career if I had not been a student at my exemplary university and the personal lead of my teachers. May Allah bless them all.
I am Kamran Hamid. Currently, I am Product Manager at Bank Alfalah.
COMSATS, which represents state-of-the-art infrastructure, a highly intellectual, experienced, and supportive faculty, and a learner-centric environment, trained us in economics and motivated us for our professional development, and was instrumental in succeeding in my professional life. COMSATS University’s MS Program is a shining example of a comprehensive, high-quality education for working professionals.
I graduated from the CUI Economics department in 2016. I also completed my MS Economics from CUI in 2019. I have been working as a Lecturer in Economics (BPS 17) at Govt. Associate College for Women Kot Radha Kishen. My academic journey at CUI played an important role in defining who I am as an individual today. I have learned and experienced so many things in my BS and MS programs. I passed the PPSC lecturer in Economics test and interview in 2017 due to my learning in the BS Economics program. At that time, my knowledge was very fresh, which helped me in qualifying PPSC examination. After my job in Higher Education Department, it had become challenging for me to continue my MS. Thesis writing was even more challenging for me, but my Supervisor was always forthcoming in helping me and answering questions in person or via email. I am very thankful to all of my teachers. I really appreciate your consideration, guidance, help, and time. I am a proud COMSIAN.
I completed my BS and MS in Economics from COMSATS University Lahore. I completed my BS in 2015 while MS in 2017. I had a great experience of learning at COMSATS Lahore. I am thankful to my respected teachers, especially Dr. Rafi Amir-ud-Din. As my Supervisor and mentor during my MS thesis, I learned many new things under his kind supervision. Our teachers at COMSATS trained us very well in econometrics and data analysis. My stay at COMSATS University Lahore was one of the best times. Currently, I am pursuing my Ph.D. in Economics from the National College of Business Administration and Economics (NCBA&E), Lahore. Besides this, I am also a member of 17th Youth Parliament of Pakistan from my constituency, i.e., NA-90 Sargodha.
