Department of Architecture Talk series by Ar.Rashid Rasheed, titled 'A Conversation on Sustainable Architecture & Design’

Department of Architecture (DA), COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, hosted a talk by Ar.Rashid Rasheed of SRDW architecture firm, on Wednesday, 16th March 2022 in DA Seminar Room. The event was organised and co-hosted by Ar.Maira Khan, assistant professor of the department.
The topic of the talk was"A Conversation on Sustainable Architecture & Design".
Ar. Rashid Rasheed is a graduate of National College of Arts (NCA) in 1993 with a Distinction in B.Arch. Rashid joined the prestigious Architecture & Interior Design firm; Designerseast as Partner in 1993, working on many critically acclaimed projects in the Corporate, Residential, Education and Health Care sectors. Rashid left Designerseast in 2006 to form his own firm SRDW with Partner Ar. Saad Mehmood Khan. SRDW is at the forefront of Sustainable Architecture and Interior design and is one of the Founding Corporate Members of Pakistan Green Building Council.
The focus of the talk was Sustainable Design and the importance of site and climate responsive architectural design. The designs of SRDW are acclaimed as sustainable and environmentally responsive, which Ar.Rashid presented during this session.
The event, which was well attended by the students and faculty members of the DA, ended with a Q/A session and note of thanks by the Head of the department.
