Third Symposium: Recent Advances and Challenges, December 18-20, 2012
The 3rd International Symposium on Biomedical Materials: Recent Advances and Challenges, spanned over a period of three days, (the 18th to 20th of December 2012). The event was hosted at PC (Pearl Continental) Catering on Raiwind Road. These convergence points of this symposium were to:
- Visit the hrecent advances in the field of biomedical materials and tissue engineering (BMTE)
- Analyze the progress on the front of BMTE in Pakistan
- Pin-point global and national challenges to research
- Highlight importance of research to global and national economies
- Encourage interdisciplinary research, particularly in Pakistan
- Involve the Government and related entities in developing a comprehensive strategy for chartered developments in the field of Biomedical Materials and Tissue Engineering in Pakistan
The symposium was a well attended affair with over 170 professionals from different walks of life. As envisaged, through this activity IRCBM and DOST were able to rally both clinicians and scientists on the same platform.
