Women have always played a vital role in the development of a society, but a role that has been neglected and unappreciated due to the poor implementation of Islamic laws. The status of women in an Islamic society and the significance Islam has given to a woman, is one of the most disputable issues in the development circles now-a-days. This project is an attempt to remove the misconception that ‘Islam’ as a religion hinders the way of women empowerment and their significance in an Islamic society and to highlight the issue that people interpret their own understanding of religion into shariah which causes so many misconceptions about Islam.
