In recent years free, on line journals, many of them open access and peer-reviewed, have begun to both challenge and complement traditional academic publishing. This is a welcome development and IAMCR is developing a resource on its website with links to journals in the field of media and communications. Mass communication is one of the studies through which how the individual and entities relay information through mass media to large segments of the population at the same time. Some examples are like magazine, book publishing, newspaper, radio, television and films; these are the mediums which are used to spread information.
