Biology and Bioinformatics Society (BBS) The HKCBEES-Biology and Bioinformatics Society (BBS) is organized for experts and scholars in the Biology and Bioinformatics discipline. Through organizing annually conferences and workshops on Biology, Bioinformatics and related fields, the BBS serves to provide an ideal platform for discovering new ideas, exploring innovative solutions, and networking with the leaders who are changing the world of Biology and Bioinformatics. TJ Bioinformatics Society was established to inform students about the rapidly-growing field of bioinformatics. From analyzing large genomes to synthesizing novel drugs for proteins, bioinformatics is becoming more important in the medical and biological research industry and could be used to save lives. Our club hopes to introduce you to bioinformatics through informative lectures, hand-on lectures, and fun games. No previous knowledge is required, so join us during Wednesday B block in Room 251! The Chemical Society of Pakistan A non-governmental organization (NGO) with members from the academia and scientific professionals working in different government institutes and industrial set ups, connected in one way or the other, with the education and application of the knowledge of Chemical Sciences for the betterment of human conditions in this country. This along with the objectives of the Chemical Society of Pakistan, as embedded in the constitution of the Society makes the mission statement of the NGO. International Society of Chemical Ecology: The International Sociey of Chemical Ecology (ISCE) is organized exclusively for scientific purposes, and specifically to promote the understanding of interactions between organisms and their environment that are mediated by naturally occurring chemicals. Research areas include the chemistry, biochemistry and function of natural products, their importance at all levels of ecological organization, their evolutionary origin, and their practical application. The RSC is the largest organisation in Europe for advancing the chemical sciences. Supported by a worldwide network of members and an international publishing business, our activities span education, conferences, science policy and the promotion of chemistry to the public. Since its founding in 1997, the International Society for Computational Biology (ISCB) continues to be the only society representing computational biology and bioinformatics on a worldwide scale. ISCB serves a global community of over 4,000 researchers, practitioners, technicians, students, and suppliers dedicated to advancing the scientific understanding of living systems through computation. "The Bioinformatics Organization, Inc. serves the scientific and educational needs of bioinformatic practitioners and the general public. We develop and maintain computational resources to facilitate world-wide communications and collaborations between people of all educational and professional levels. We provide and promote open access to the materials and methods required for, and derived from, research, development and education." Bioinformatics and Bioengineering Technical Committee (BBTC) "The aims of FESPB are to advance research, education, and the exchange of information amongst plant biologists within Europe and beyond, and to support the publication of the results of research through its six affiliated international journals: Journal of Experimental Botany, Journal of Plant Physiology, Plant Physiology and Biochemistry, Physiologia Plantarum, Plant Biology and Functional Plant Biology." They also produce a regular newsletter. Bioinformatics ITalian Society (B.IT.S.) "The Bioinformatics ITalian Society (B.IT.S.) aims at joining research scientists interested in Bioinformatics, meant as a multi-disciplinary science for the study of biological systems at the molecular and cellular level by using informatics and computational methods and models. Main goals of the associations are the study, development and spreading of Bioinformatics in a scientific, academic, technologic and industrial environment." British Society for Cell Biology The Society organizes and supports meetings and conferences relevant to cell biology and plays an increasing role in raising awareness of science policy issues in the UK. MidSouth Computational Biology and Bioinformatics Society (MCBIOS) "The organization sponsors an annual conference in the mid-south region. MCBIOS seeks to foster networking and collaboration, and promote the professional development of its members. Both senior members and students will find MCBIOS to be a welcoming environment for both presenting on-going research in the form of posters and presentations, as well as publishing peer-reviewed papers based on that work in the annual proceedings."
