Since 2014, IRCBM has maintained a strong scientific and technological collaboration with Dr. Jean Louis Marty of BAE: Biocapteurs-Analyses-Environnement, University of Perpignan Via Domitia, France. Dr. Akhtar Hayat from IRCBM and Prof. Marty have been awarded the prestigious HEC PERIDOT Research Grant under the Pak-France PERIDOT Research Program.

The Biosensor group at IRCBM works in close collaboration with the Prof. Marty group at Perpignan, resulting in the publication of more than 20 joint research articles as well as the training of several post-graduate and postdoctoral researchers. Currently, collaborative research projects based on the monitoring of analytes of medical interest are ongoing. Prof. Marty has visited IRCBM several times to attend scientific conferences, seminars, and to sign an official research MoU.

National Institute of Health and Medical Research (INSERM), University of Strasbourg

Dr. Sobia Tabassum, Associate Professor at IRCBM, and Prof. Dr. Olivier Huck of INSERM, University of Strasbourg, France, have been awarded the prestigious HEC PERIDOT Research Grant. Their winning project, "Multifunctional Smart Self-Healing Hydrogel for Synergistic Periodontitis Treatment," underscores their groundbreaking work in biomedical materials.

Dr. Sobia Tabassum conducted a research visit to INSERM in Strasbourg in September 2023, delivering an invited presentation and engaging in scientific discussions. In return, Dr. Olivier Huck visited IRCBM in December 2023 to initiate joint research activities in regenerative medicine.

Dr. Faiza Sharif, Tenured Associate Professor at IRCBM, has been awarded the prestigious Pak–France PERIDOT Research Grant 2025 for the project titled "Fabrication of Cardiac Patches to Induce Endogenous Cardiomyocyte Regeneration."

This project focuses on promoting endogenous cardiomyocyte regeneration through cardiac patches incorporating plant bioactives developed at IRCBM. The project is being conducted in collaboration with Prof. Dr. Valérie Schini-Kerth, Founder and Co-Director of the International Master of Biomedicine, Head of Translational Cardiovascular Medicine. Reciprocal visits for early-career researchers (PhD/M.Phil) are scheduled over a three-year period (2025–2027) to advance applied cardiac therapies.

Dr. Muhammad Azhar Hayat Nawaz collaborates with Dr. Bastien Doumèche, Associate Professor at CNRS-ICBMS, for the development of low-cost, user-friendly biosensing platforms for environmental monitoring, specifically disposable cotton bud-based colorimetric biosensors for single-step detection of PCBs.
