GFIF 2015
Center of Islamic Finance, established by COMSATS Institute of Information Technology Lahore, Pakistan, is proudly hosting the third Global Forum on Islamic Finance (GFIF), after successfully organizing two earlier events. GFIF provides a platform to scholars and experts from all over the world to share new ideas on Islamic finance and related fields. It also acts as a medium for all participants to quench their desire to be acquainted with the current trends and practices of Islamic
finance. The theme of the conference is:
Islamic finance: A viable financial alternative.
وَأَخۡذِهِمُ ٱلرِّبَوٰاْ وَقَدۡ نُہُواْ عَنۡهُ وَأَكۡلِهِمۡ أَمۡوَٲلَ ٱلنَّاسِ بِٱلۡبَـٰطِلِۚ وَأَعۡتَدۡنَا لِلۡكَـٰفِرِينَ مِنۡہُمۡ عَذَابًا أَلِيمً۬ا
And their taking usury though indeed they were forbidden it and their devouring the property of people falsely, and We have prepared for the unbelievers from among them a painful chastisement. (Quran, An-Nisa, 4: 161)

Aim of the Conference:
The third Global Forum on Islamic Finance 2015 is aimed at providing an opportunity for researchers, scholars and practitioners to share knowledge regarding the dynamics of Islamic finance. Current developments in the field of Islamic finance and their impact on the major economies of the world in the near future and its further potentials would be the focus of GFIF.
Scope of the Conference:
The 3rd GFIF will provide an opportunity to the participants to share their knowledge in the sphere of Islamic finance in local and global context. We also welcome related topics that contribute towards the theme of the conference.
GFIF will also provide a unique opportunity to the budding and potential researchers and practitioners to augment their skills through intensive sessions by highly professional local and foreign speakers. Moreover, panel discussions will ignite dialogue on contemporary issues to add value towards the learning of the participants.
Structure of the Conference:
The 3rd GFIF welcomes participants from academia, research institutes, corporate world and the government sector to share their experiences, learning and research.
