External Linkages
CUI having an International recognition and repute, aspire to collaborate with many International universities, research institutes and organizations for advancement of knowledge and research. On March 4th, CUI inked a joint project under auspices of Saarland University Germany, project titled; transforming academic knowledge to develop entrepreneurial universities in Pakistan: A capacity building project for local entrepreneurial Eco-systems. The project is co-funded by Erasmus + program of European union and co-partnered by CUI, LUMS, GCU and UoG, with two European universities, Saarland University, Germany and another is a Greek University. The Inaugural ceremony was held at GCU, Bukhari Auditorium and all respected members from all partner universities participated into the ceremony on March 4th, 2020.
MoU Signing Ceremony with Engro Corporation
A historic MoU signing ceremony with Engro Corporation was held on Sept. 11th, 2023, where Ms. Areesha; Vice President Talent Acquisition, Culture & People @ Engro came from Engro Corporate Office Karachi to sign this MoU. Ms. Saima Muzaffar organized the entire ceremony and coordinated this grand MoU between Engro and COMSATS University. This MoU will pave the way for new horizons of bilateral collaboration between Engro and COMSATS in areas of research, technology, students hiring at Engro Corp, and much more. Our students will get the best opportunities to find jobs, internships and training at Engro along with study visits to Engro plants. Prof. Dr. Robina and Dr. Rashid A. Kahn signed this MoU on behalf of COMSATS Lahore. This MoU will provide best career opportunities to our students and graduates.
Visit by Kashf Foundation
A team from Kashf Foundation visited COMSATS on September 20th, 2023 headed by the Chief Technology Officer Mr. Faisal Malik to explore different areas of cooperation between both the parties regarding IT projects, IT research, students job placement, internships and FYP facilitation. The team, consisted of the Head HR; Mr. Moeen ud Din, Head IT; Mr. Shahid Latif, and Manager HR; Mr. Muhammad Iqbal showed keen interest in different research projects of COMSATS and appreciated the IT skills of our students who are rendering remarkable services in their professional fields. Dr. Farooq Ahmad and Dr. Furrukh Zeeshan also attended the meeting from the CS department. This initial meeting will pave the way for further future collaboration between COMSATS and Kashf Foundation. Ms. Saima Muzaffar organized and arranged this entire event.
A high level delegation of Professors from Hasselt University (HU) Belgium led by its Vice Rector (Research) Prof. Dr Jean-Michel Rigo visited Lahore Campus of COMSATS University Islamabad on February 22, 2019. The delegation visiting Pakistan at the invitation by Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan under the frame work on an MoU. The delegation called on the Campus Director and the officers of International Office and heads of different academic departments were also present. The two sides exchanged views to identify commonalties and priority areas to cooperate and collaborate in higher education and research between the two universities. The delegation visited various Labs and departments at the Campus and took keen interest in pursuing future collaborations in the areas of rehabilitation sciences. The two sides agreed to work jointly through exchanges of faculty, students, undertaking joint research programs and placement of students to pursue PhD at HU Belgium under split programs.
International Student Convention
2nd Edition, Royal Palm, LahoreCo-organized by CUI Lahore
The team from CUI-LHR actively participated in organizing 2nd edition of International Student Convention at Royal Palm, Lahore, where students, faculty and VCs of different universities from all over Pakistan were present. A combined stall was displayed by CUI-LHR which represented CUI-ISD; its 07 campuses, CUI International Office and Pak China Business Forum. Senior Coordination Officer, Ms. Saima Muzaffar and her team from Admission office and Campus Coordination office managed all these activities, the stall was visited by lots of people, dignitaries like Dr. Atta-ur-Rehman, Minister for Punjab Higher Education, VCs and many local and international students. Many students from other departments of CUI-LHR specially from Mass Communication Department played active role in organizing the event. CUI-LHR hosted purposeful, knowledgeable workshops for students and a grand dinner for all participants at the campus. The event proved to be extremely informative, purposeful and successful with a zealous participation of students and universities from all over Pakistan.
Pak China Business Forum (PCBF)
PCBF is a landmark event of CUI-Lahore which has been held by CUI since last 7 years consecutively & successfully, where Chinese industrialists, manufacturers and businesses showcase their products and get a great opportunity to meet their Pakistani counterparts to communicate and interact for business promotion, sales & marketing and technology transfer. 7th PAK-China Business Forum & Industrial Expo was held on September 2-4, 2019 which was a joint venture of CUI, FPPCI and Everest International Ltd., and a large no. of Chinese companies participated in it. These Chinese delegates called on Prime Minister, Mr. Imran Khan at Governor house Punjab, where Governor Punjab and other cabinet ministers were also present, apprising them the significance of Forum in vast scenario of CPEC.
