The software engineering discipline bridges computer science theory and its practical application
through a wide range of technologies and tools. The aim of the Software Engineering Research Centre
at COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, is to study state‑of‑the‑art research and to
solve the challenges faced by the local software industry.
Our research is directed towards the improvement of processes, methods and techniques by reusing
artefacts from existing legacy applications. We work in both the forward and the reverse engineering
domains. The field of reverse engineering has gone through a number of revolutions over the last
decade, yet it still faces key challenges — and addressing those challenges is the purpose of
this group.
