Grand Mehfil-e-Milad at COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus
In COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, a grand Mehfil-e-Milad was held on 4th September 2025 (10th Rabi-ul-Awwal 1447 AH) in the Main Jamia Masjid of the campus. The event carried special significance as it marked the 1500th Birthday Anniversary of the Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ . In line with the Ashra Rehmatul-lil-Alamin (ﷺ ) initiative of the Government of Pakistan and the Principal Seat’s directives, the occasion was celebrated with great devotion and spiritual zeal.
Opening Session
The program began with the recitation from the Holy Qur’an, followed by soulful Naat recitations by students, staff, and invited reciters. The atmosphere of the Jamia Masjid was filled with reverence and love for the Holy Prophet ﷺ , as the audience actively participated in the heartfelt verses of praise.
Keynote Address
The distinguished guest speaker, Mr. Muhammad Soban Attari, Khateeb of Jamia Masjid Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, is a renowned Islamic scholar known for his eloquence and inspiring lectures on Seerah and Islamic teachings.
In his enlightening bayan, he highlighted the timeless guidance of the Holy Prophet ﷺ , emphasizing his teachings of mercy, compassion, and justice. He stressed that the Prophet ﷺ carried out every action with perfection, making him a role model for all humanity until the Day of Judgment. He also encouraged participants to celebrate the blessed occasion by helping those affected by the recent floods in the country.
Closing Session
The gathering concluded with the final Salaam and dua. The worthy Director, Lahore Campus, Professor Dr. Sarfraz Ahmad, presented a souvenir shield to the Guest Speaker, Muhammad Soban Attar, with memorable remarks. The guest speaker also presented a book on Seerah to the worthy Director, a timeless gift serving as a cherished remembrance of the blessed occasion.
Food (langar) and Islamic booklets were distributed among all the participants.
Plantation Activity
Later, an inspirational plantation activity was held in the Masjid courtyard, where the Worthy Director and the Guest Speaker together planted a tree — signifying growth, sustainability, and a living tribute to the Seerah of the Holy Prophet ﷺ . The activity concluded with a short prayer, adding a meaningful and lasting touch to the spiritual gathering.
Participation and Tradition
The event was attended by a large number of faculty, officers, staff, and students, who participated with full spirit and enthusiasm, making it a memorable spiritual experience.
With the grace of Allah Almighty, such gatherings have been a tradition of the Lahore Campus for the past nine years, and it is hoped that they will continue in the years to come. Some memorable glimpses of the Mehfil are also shared herewith.
