Biography:

Zulfiqar Habib has been a Professor at COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI) since 2012. CUI is a top-ranked university in Pakistan where he serves as the founding In-Charge of the Center for Research in Vision, Image, Graphics (VIG), and Robotics. Throughout his tenure, he has served as Chairman of Computer Science and Health Informatics, as well as Dean of the Faculty of Information Sciences & Technology across eight CUI campuses in different cities.

In 2004, Professor Habib earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Kagoshima University in Japan, followed by a two-year Postdoctoral fellowship awarded by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS). His teaching and research interests encompass Computer Graphics, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, and Robotics.

Professor Habib has published over 100 research papers in highly regarded ISI-indexed journals with excellent citation scores. He has successfully supervised the completion of doctoral degrees for seven Ph.D. students. Additionally, he served as the coordinating principal investigator and country representative for the European Union's Horizon 2020, MSCA-RISE-2017 project.

His contributions to education and research have earned him various awards, including two Research Productivity Awards at the national level, the Best Researcher award from CUI, and two graduate merit fellowships from Japan. Since 2009, he has been invited as a keynote speaker or tutorial presenter at numerous national and international conferences. Professor Habib has also served as a guest researcher at universities in Germany, Turkey, UK, Norway, and Spain.
