Professor Syed Asad Hussain is leading Communications and Networks research at COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI). He obtained his master degrees from University of the Punjab Lahore and Cardiff University UK. He was funded for his PhD by Nortel Networks UK at Queen's University Belfast. He was awarded prestigious Endeavour research fellowship for his post doctorate at the University of Sydney Australia in 2010, where he conducted research on VANETs. He has taught at Queen's University Belfast UK, Lahore University of Managemant Sciences (LUMS) and University of the Punjab. He is supervising PhD students at CUI and split-site PhD students at Lancaster University UK in the fields of cloud computing and cybersecurity. Professor Hussain is currently director of CUI Lahore campus. He has served as Dean Faculty of Information Science and Technology from June 2015 to February 2021 and has served in the capacity of Head of Computer Science Department COMSATS Institute of Information Technology Lahore from August 2008 to August 2017. He regularly reviews IEEE, IET and ACM journal papers. He has research collaboration with School of Computing and Informatics Cardiff Univerity, UK (Cloud Computing), Lancaster University UK (Cybersecurity), Université Paris-Est Créteil (UPEC), France (Brain Computer Interfacing), Charles Sturt University Australia (VANETS). Professor Hussain has been working in ALICE project (O2) at CERN Switzerland. 

Professor Hussain's research interests include development of an Intelligent Brain Computer Interfacing (BCI) Based Personalized Healthcare System for Neuro-Rehabilitation. He is supervising PhD and MS students in the field of EEG based Major Depressive disorder and Bipolar disorder detection using Neural Networks, Emotion Based Mobility System for Neurally Damaged Quadriplegic Patients and Sentiment Analysis-Based Thought to Text Conversion Systems.
