Dr. Farasat Iqbal obtained his PhD and M.Sc. degree in Materials Science & Engineering from Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany. His basic research interests are in development of Magnesium based biodegradable metallic alloys, bioactive coating for tailored degradation behavior and better adhesion, development of ceramic based materials and composites for bone repair and regeneration using 3D printing technique & structure-property relationships of metals & alloys. He is currently looking after Electron Microscopy & Mechanical Characterization suites at IRCBM.

He is interested in joint interdisciplinary and collaborative research on biomedical materials and tissue engineering to address the challenges exists in this domain in Pakistan. He is always keen to help young scientists and students willing to work in the domain of biomaterials & tissue engineering.

3. Electrophoretic deposition of bioactive coatings on surgical grade stainless steels using modulated eletric fields. 0.2 Million PKR from CIIT.
