Dr. Asma Tufail is serving as an Associate Professor at Interdisciplinary Research Center in Biomedical Materials (IRCBM), COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, Lahore, Pakistan. She did her Ph.D. in Applied chemistry from China and then joined the Institute of Chemistry, University of the Punjab Lahore, Pakistan in the capacity of Assistant Professor and served for two and a half years.

She was awarded George Foster Fellowship for Experienced Researcher from Alexander von Humboldt for her postdoctorate at Technical University of Berlin, Germany, on "3D printing of Biomaterials for Cartilage and Bone Regeneration". It is a prestigious competitive fellowship by the Alexander von Humboldt organization.

Prior to that, she did Post-doctorate from the University of Sheffield under the Pak-UK fellowship program on "the Development of Functionally Graded Membranes for Guided Bone Regeneration/ Guided Tissue regeneration". She has been working on multiple materials including Bioceramics, Mesoporous materials, Zeolites, and Polyoxometalates.
