Mr. Imran Raza is working as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus.  He has BS(CS) and MSCS degree from Pakistan. His area of interests includes Wireless Sensor Networks, MANETS, Trust in Federated Clouds, Edge Computing, QoS issue in Networks, and Routing protocols.

Research Lab:

A state-of-the-art network communications research lab in computer science department of COMSATS University Lahore campus has been established. This lab consists of latest equipment including SDN HP3800 switch, HP DL 380 G6 Server, USRP 310 complete kit, two Xlinx Kintex FPGAs, Multi Array Antenna, Wireless Mesh Router, Wireless Sensor Network Components, WSN-PRO 2400 CA Professional Kit. My Signals (S/W) (H/W) Complete Kit (Libelium), Memsic Wireless Sensor Network Kit. 

ALICE Computing System CERN Switzerland:

Team of Dr. Iosif Legrand at CERN and our team at COMSATS Lahore are implementing scenarios of a full system implementing 250 FLPs and 1500 EPNs. The aim is to

  • develop a tool for detailed simulation of network topologies for O2 (online and offline)
  • facility allowing for quick evaluation of various scenarios.
  • develop a tool for coarse simulation of O2 system components allowing for quick estimate
  • of computing resource needs.
  • extend 2) to estimate overall long-term computing needs during Run 3 and 4 considering
  • O2 and Grid resources.
