I have studied Bachelor in Science from Government College University with distinction in 1999.  Then, I have carried out Master in Chemistry from the Institute of Chemistry, University of the Punjab in 2001. I have stayed for almost one year in Ittehad Chemical (Pvt) Limited Lahore as an Assistant Chemist. I went to Germany to pursue my doctoral studies in 2006. I have completed my PhD in synthetic chemistry from the Clausthal University of Technology, Germany with magna cum laude grade. I have carried out synthesis of novel chiral imidazolinium salts and their potential application in asymmetric synthesis under the able supervision of Prof. Dr. Rene Wilhelm. Then I stayed as postdoctoral fellow in TU Clausthal for about 9 months. In January 2010, I have joined Department of Chemical engineering, COMSATS institute of Information Technology, Lahore. Currently, I am working as Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus. My areas of interest span from experimental work of fabrication of materials for different applications in catalysis and membrane manufacturing to the theoretical investigation.
