Call for “COMSATS First Poster Competition in Statistics -2015 (COMSATS-FPSC-2015)”

Center for Statistical Consultancy and Training (CSCT), Department of Statistics, COMSATS Institute of Information Technology Lahore is providing a forum “COMSATS First Poster Competition in Statistics -2015 (COMSATS-FPCS-2015)” for students to present their understanding in statistical tools, applications of statistics in different areas of study and research projects. A statistical poster is a visual display that could comprises (i) applications of statistical tools in various disciplines (ii) research projects showing uses of statistical techniques to achieve the objectives. Tables, graphs and question/answers can also be included as supporting material. The main purpose of this poster competition is to motivate the students for understanding and applications of statistical techniques correctly.

The organizing committee of COMSATS-FPCS-2015, December 9, 2015 invites undergraduate and graduate students to participate in this poster competition.

Submission Process:
Submit your poster summary before November 20, 2015 using the poster summary submission webform, or email a editable PDF submission form to Muhammad Hamid Mahmood at mhmahmood@ciitlahore.edu.pk.

Important Dates:

• Poster summary submission deadline: November 26, 2015 at 5:00 p.m.
• Notification of decision to include poster: November 27, 2015 at 5:00 p.m.
• Registration deadline: Monday, November 30, 2015 at 5:00 p.m.
• Event will be on December 9, 2015, at 9:30am.

Prizes:
The three best posters will be honored with certificate and a prize as:

• 1st Prize      Rs-8000
• 2nd Prize     Rs-6000
• 3rd Prize     Rs-4000

Registration and Entrance:
The presenting author and co-authors of a poster are required to register themselves separately for the event. Registration fee for each group member is mentioned as;

• Participant from COMSATS Lahore: Rs-350
• Participants not from COMSATS Lahore: Rs-500

Participants will be served with lunch at 1:30 pm.
