Dr Faiza Sharif is a Tenured Associate Professor at IRCBM CUI Lahore. She completed her Phd from Institute of Biology, Leiden University, the Netherlands and Post Doc fellowship from Sheffield University UK.

Her main research interests are

  • Tissue engineering and regenerative biomedical materials.
  • The target medical applications include wound healing, skin regeneration, soft tissue, and periodontal applications. 
  • Material fabrication is focused on polymers, polymer-composites, ceramic-polymer composites and biologically synthesized biomaterials.
  • Isolation and expansion of adipose derived stem cells from human fat and use of stem cells for tissue engineered regenerative materials.
  • In vitro biomaterial testing using pre-osteoblast, fibroblast, keratinocytes and many cancer cell lines.
  • In vivo biomaterial testing on Rat and Rabbit models.

 

Currently she is working on the translation of her research work towards the development of indigenus life saving biomaterials in collaboration with the clinicians in the field of maxillofacial and plastic surgery.  

She has travelled to many European countries and regularly travels within Pakistan for tourism.
