Rana Nadir Idrees is Associate Professor of Management Sciences at COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus. His research asks how the way organisations manage people shapes what those people are able to become at work, with particular attention to employee well-being, leadership, and the reward systems that sit underneath both. Recent studies have examined green human resource management in Pakistan's pollutant and pharmaceutical industries, academic leadership and organisational commitment in private universities, and the design of public health and tenure track policy.
He currently leads an international study of remote workers' well-being across Pakistan and Malaysia, funded through AASSREC with support from IDRC Canada, within a research cohort spanning South and Southeast Asia. He was previously project coordinator for TAKE-UP, a European Union Erasmus+ programme building entrepreneurial university capacity in Pakistan in partnership with Saarland University in Germany and Athens University of Economics and Business in Greece.
His work appears in Quality & Quantity, Quality Assurance in Education, Environmental Science and Pollution Research, Business Strategy & Development and the Middle East Journal of Management, alongside book chapters with IGI Global. He has supervised two doctorates to completion and more than twenty master's theses, examines doctoral work at five universities in Pakistan, and reviews for academic journals and for the HEC National Research Programme for Universities. He was Head of the Department of Management Sciences from 2020 to 2023.
Outside the University he founded and self-funds two educational platforms carrying free instruction and bilingual certification to students and early career professionals in Pakistan.
