Dr. Muhammad Ijaz has an excellent academic and research orientation. Multidimensional experience of teaching and administrative jobs, technical knowledge in the field of pharmacy, pharmaceutical technology. He has completed his PhD in Pharmaceutical Technology from University of Innsbruck, Austria. He has won scholarship for his PhD studies from Higher Education Commission, Pakistan and proved his abilities as researcher abroad. He has won one research project from governmental organizations during his post-PhD phase. Dr. Ijaz has extensive profesional and managerial experience. He has worked in Sales and Marketing department of Sanofi-Aventis, Pakistan. He has four years experience of working as a Health and Nutrition officer in Punjab Health Department, Pakistan.

Dr. Muhammad Ijaz has been working at Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Veternary and Animal sciences, Lahore before joining Pharmacy department of CUI. 

Dr. Muhammad Ijaz has joined newly established Department of Pharmacy at COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore and currently working to establish various laboratory facilities in department. He also has an outstanding record of teaching research courses to M.Phil students in Pharmaceutics.

Dr. Muhammad Ijaz is HEC approved research supervisor and has supervised number of M.Phil students.

His major research interest are but not limited to: Self-Nanoemulsions for cancer drug delivery, Peptide drug delivery systems, Mucoadhesive drug delivery systems, Hydrophobic Ion Pairing in drug delivery, Cyclodextrins, Thiolated Cyclodextrins.
