Dr. Ghazanfar Abbas is currently working as Tenured Associate Professor in the Department of Physics, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus and has 18 years teaching and research experience of graduate/undergraduate level. He has completed Post-Doctorate Fellowship (May 2019-April 2020) under Talented Young Scientist Program (TYSP), China offered by Ministry of Science and Technology, (MoST), China at Center for Fuel Cell Innovation (CICF), School of Materials Science and Engineering, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, HUST, Wuhan.

                Dr. Ghazanfar has completed his Ph.D. in Physics with a specialization in Fuel Cell Technology from Bahauddin Zakariya University BZU Multan and the most of research work completed in the Department of Energy Technology, Royal Institute of Technology, KTH, Sweden. He has published more than 75 research articles in well reputed high indexed International Journals achieving more than 370 impact factor and citations 3000+ with h-index 28. Dr. Ghazanfar has presented many talks including Preliminary, Keynote and Invited Speaker at International and National Conferences. He has awarded many times Conference Travel Grants to present research work from Higher Education Commission, HEC Pakistan & Pakistan Science Foundation PSF Pakistan. In this regards, He has visited Sweden, Latvia, France, Finland, South Korea, Turkey, and China etc. for conferences and Scientific meetings. He also has experience to organize International Conference.

He is In-charge of Clean Energy Research Lab (CERL) with continuing work in the field of nanocomposite materials for energy applications (Fuel Cells). Currently he has supervised 02 Ph.D. students and they have been awarded Ph.D. degree. Four )04) PhD Scholars are currently enrolled under his supervision. Further, more than 50 MS, 40 BS students have completed their projects in the area of fuel cells.

He has been awarded HEC-NRPU project in the same field with a worth of more than 5 million PKR. He also has been awarded CRGP Grant from COMSATS University Islamabad with a worth of 0.300 million. 

He has professional skill to synthesize the materials by different techniques; solid state reaction, co-precipitation, sol-gel, wet-chemical root and auto-clave techniques and well known knowledge of XRD, SEM, TEM, TGA, and EIS analysis with the measurements of electronic/ionic conductivities of the materials and fuel cell performance.
