Engr. Mulazim Ali is Research Associate at Department of Chemical Engineering, COMSATS University Islmabad- Lahore Campus. He did his BS & MS Chemical Engineering from Chemical Engineering Department , CUI Lahore  and was one of the best students of the department. He worked in industry (e2e Business Enterprises , The first Rice Bran Oil Plant) for almost two years. During his stay at e2e Business Enterprises, he had been given roles in multiple departments i.e. QC/QA , H&SE , Utility & Process as well  and by the time he left the organization , he was working as Process/Utility Engineer. 

He joined COMSATS Lahore in February, 2016 and since then he has actively played a vital role in upkeeping the legacy and national ranking of the deparment. Following are some of his teaching, administrative and research contributions in deparment/unviersity,

During his services at Department of Chemical Engineering, CUI Lahore, he has been teaching different theory and lab modules including,
Heat Transfer Operations Lab (Spring-2016), Mass Transfer Operations Lab (Spring-2016), Fuels & Energy Lab (Fall 2016 - till date), Fluid Mechanics for Chemical Engineers Lab (Fall 2018- till date), Polymer Engineering (Fall 2016), Chemical Engineering Plant Design Project (Fall 2024), Particulate Technology Lab (Spring-2025), Engineering Drawing Lab (Fall-2025).
Project Supervision:
During his stay at CUI-Lahore, he has supervise/co-supervised following projects at both graduate and undergraduate level,
> Co-supervision of MS thesis entitled, “Surface modification of Layered Double Hydroxides for Reinforcement in Nitrile Butadiene Rubber”.
> Supervision of CPT project entitled, “To prepare & optimize mechanical properties of Acrylobuta-diene Styrene and Poly blends using Internal Mixer (Thermofisher, HAAKE Rheomix)”.
> Supervision of CPT project entitled, “Preparation of layered double hydroxide (LDH) based rubber composites for better mechanical and fire retardant properties.”

During my stay at CUI-Lahore so far, I have been given diverse administrative roles in core committees of the department/university,
Member/Secretary FYDP Committee, Member Curriculum Review Committee, Member Proctorial Board, Member/Secretary Continuous Quality Improvement Cell, Member ISO Committee, Focal Person Web portal/Marketing Committee, Member Accreditation Management Cell (AMC), Member Industrial Liaison Committee, OBE Trainer – Department of Chemical Engineering and Convener/Senior Batch Advisor Undergraduate Program Committee.

Research Assignments:
In charge - Polymer Processing & Rubber Technology Laboratories [Spring 2016 - Fall 2019]:
He was entrusted with the charge of Polymer Processing and Rubber technology Laboratories where I worked as member of Polymer and Composites Materials Research group. I sole handedly commissioned, operated and maintained world class latest equipment like Internal Mixer - HAAKE Rheomix (Thermofisher, Germany), Moving Die Rheometer (MDR 3000 MonTech, USA), MonTech R-VS 3000 Cutter (USA), Hot Press (Carver, USA) during my posting in the lab.
Focal Person - Spectroscopy Laboratory [Fall 2019 – Spring 2022]:
He have also worked as focal person for FTIR (Perkin Elmer), UV Spectrophotometer (BMS/UV1602) and X-Ray Diffraction-meter (Malvern PANalytical) and have conducted multiple research samples. The primary responsibility was to operate and maintain equipment meanwhile keeping sample records to share with relevant quarters during my tenure.
In charge – Catalysis & Reaction Engineering Laboratory [Fall 2022 – Till Date]:
He has been now entrusted with the charge of Catalysis & Reaction Engineering where I am also working as member of Catalysis & Reaction Engineering Research Group. The primary responsibility in this laboratory is to operate and maintain basic equipment like Die Degradation setup, Photocatalytic Reactor, CSTR Industrial reactor, Hot Air Oven, Vacuum Oven, Muffle Furnace, Tubular Furnace and Sonicator etc.
In charge/Resource Person – Fuels & Energy Laboratory [Fall 2016– Till Date]:
He has been working as In-charge/Resource Person for Fuels & Energy Lab/module since 2016 and have extensive experience over use of Flash Point apparatus (Pensky Martin), Redwood Viscometer-I, Redwood Viscometer-II, Engler Viscometer, Ring & Ball apparatus (Softening Point), Bomb Calorimeter, Penetrometer along with other basic equipment of laboratory. The primary responsibility in this laboratory is to operate and maintain all equipment for research and teaching purpose.
